now we're talking

Post by dphillips on Fri Apr 17, 2009 6:47 pm

I know most of us grew up shooting .22s. They are the easiest and most economical way to introduce firearms and practice IMHO. Any way let's get a list of rimfires owned.
Mine
Browning Buckmark URX 5.5" (contoured grips)
Ruger .22/45 with a red dot
Ruger 10-22 (Hogue stock and trigger job)
Marlin

My first rifle is older than I am. It is a Winchester 77 22 my dad gave me way back in the sixties. It is still a good shooter.

My other guns are a Marlin 57 Lever 22mag, Ruger 22/45, Ruger P90 45, Ruger 77 270 tang safety, Mosberg pump 12 gaguge, Encore with 308 barrel, Encore blued pistol 44 Mag, T/C Renagade Muzzeloader I built from a kit, two or three other muzzeloaders, various old single barrel shotguns from when I was a kid, and that is all I can think of at the moment.

I really like it....I don't think there's a better 22 bolt gun out there for the money....really nice, grown-up feeling rifles....I actually had another one, a 17HMR in the Full Stock version, that I wish I hadn't sold now....here's a pic of the two together....

My list of Rimfires but constantly being used and rotated among immediate family:
Anschutz 1712FWT(2 stage trigger) in McMillan Black Stock with Weaver T24 Scope.
Another 1712FWT(single stage trigger) but same as above looking for BKL rings.
A old West German 1700 FWT(single stage trigger) in Gray McMillan stock/Weaver T24.
Anschutz 5418MSR in Dark Blue/White Granite McMillan Stock/Weaver T24.
Borrowed CZ452 Silhouette/ Tasco Target Series 10 to 40/Rifle Basix Trigger group.
The Remington Bolt Action Single Shot with Iron sights my grandpa bought for me for $6 when I was around 8 years old.
There are no safe queens in the bunch. All are frequently shot and dry fired.
I regret selling all the other Anschutzs and CZ452s that I owned in the past. I should have kept them all. You cannot wear them out and they are constantly gaining value.

I am in DESPERATE need of BKL rings Part #257-A and 257H-A if anyone has any that they would sell me or know of any for sale anywhere.
Thanks

Buckmark Camper would be a great choice. I am going to get myself one soon, however, they make several different models.
Camper around $250

Recently I've grown affectionate to a S&W 17-4 with a 6 inch barrel. I wish I'd scraped up the money bought one years ago.
I've also got:
a couple of 10/22s
a Remington .22 single shot and a Savage youth model .22 single shot
and a Ruger Mk1 standard model.
I'm lusting after a CZ .22 with a full stock.
