Went to Academy Sports for wife some shoes came home with this.

Went by Academy to get my wife some new running shoes, but this is what we left with...




A Remington 597 VTR .22, I had been thinking about getting an AR style .22 for a while. Handled the Colt AR .22 it felt like a toy, the only model S&W M&P 15-22 they had in stock, had a 4 rail forearm which I hate. The Remington just felt better. Threw the cheap BSA scope on it for the picture. Looking a red dots and halos now.

There were about 10 guys standing around the gun counter when my wife walked up and said " Do you really need another gun?" The whole area went silent, they all turn and looked at her with this disbelieveing look, she said she was gonna go look at something else...

I just read a test report on this in Gun Test magazine. It is sorta the Consumer Reports of firearms. No advertising and they buy the guns they test no loaners from manufacturers. They gave it an A.
