Glock or XD

Post by msdeer on Thu Feb 04, 2010 11:11 am

WHich one do you like better and why?
I have both and like the XD much better personally. I like the grip safety and I have yet to find a round that it won't feed reliably.
I may get kicked off for this discussion HEHE

Yep this is definitely not a new topic!
I have owned a G17 and I currently own an XD-40c. I won't waste anyone's time by bashing the Glock but just say that the XD is a much better ergonomic fit for me. That doesn't mean that is a better gun for all but it is for me.

I agree, theres nothing wrong with a Glock.
Ive shot a few different Glocks and i have a XD service and XD Subcompact.

The XD has a better feel and points natural for me. So i have 2 thumbs up

I used to think I liked Xd better I have a 4 inch 45, had a 5 inch 45, and have a custom XDM. I think the glock is the better gun, but theres not too much difference. thumbs up

GLOCK for me. XD is ok, but I prefer Glock for reliability and changability. They are easy to work on "if need be". I am not a fan of the grip safety at all, seen them cause shooter unable to fire in akward position once as well. Glocks keep running after thousands of rounds and its proven. XD will catch up one day, but for now, Glock is most proven "Plastic" out there.

pull hair nothing like stirring pot every now and then huh.

i once went 5k rounds before i cleaned my xd and i never had a problem.

ive seen the torture videos of the Glocks and XDs, thats some crazy stuff. i wanna say a group of guys did a dry torture test with a XD Service 9mm, went thru 26k rounds non stop. They were messing with each other cause they had to keep changing gloves, the heat from the grip got to them pretty good..

Torture Test are cool. You see who has the best product out there when these are done. OFF TOPIC, but why does our military use a flippin M9 and not something much better. either one of these would make a great military weapon. BTT now. might start a new thread for this ?

I like the XD better. I have a 45 compact and a 9 subcompact.

Not that the glock is bad. I would like to own one of them too.

I've owned an xd and liked it a lot. But ithink it's more of what fits you best. On the flip side I really like the glock 19 and will have one someday.

Between the Glock and the XD, I'll go for... the... 1911. Never owned an XD. My Glock 19 and 17 don't get shot much, but have yet to complain when they do... thumbs up

so SLABS, your answer is Glock then? We all know there is nothing to compare the 1911 to. its tried and true standing all by it self on the metal pedestal. LOL

Glock for me! I just can't get past the looks of the XD. Glocks were originally Glocks too. Anyone remember what the XD started life as?

I started my handgun experience with a Glock 21.... I now own an XD45 Compact and love it. I've been thinking about picking up a G36 SF if they ever apply that new "RTF2" to it. We'll see what happens...

In the mean time, I just had to throw this in for the fun of it lol
