Connecticut requiring you to " register " magazines

Post by fredfredfred on Tue Apr 02, 2013 1:42 am

Ok, am I the only one that has actually thought of how you " register" a magazine ? I mean mine don't have serial numbers and a lot of them look identical. I thought this was really humorous. Also, a law like this, well, what happens when I travel through Connecticut under the federal safe travelers law ? Do I have to stop at the border and register said magazines ? Just seems like a huge can of worms....

Just the beginnings or should I say a continuance of further attacks on the Second Amendment. It is happening fast.

They even said this is not all we want we will be back next year to push it further. They want to get rid of the mags over 10rds altogether. This year is just to see how many each person will have to turn in next year

What about if you are a citizen from another state and driving through conneticuit while carrying a banned weapon and a high capacity magazine?

Years ago I decided not to, under any circumstances, drive my car/truck into Massachusetts due to their harsh gun laws and the fact that my vehicles have Mississippi tags which will scream to the MA troopers, "stop this car...there's probably a gun inside!". The same will now apply to Connecticut. MA, by the way, has a law on the books requiring a MANDATORY 10-year prison sentence for anyone caught with a firearm not registered in that state. Think I've finished traveling to that part of the country.

YEP, just another bite as they continue eating away at the elephant of eventual gun confiscation.

another thing I have wondered about, what happens to those poor souls that move from a state like Vermont to say Connecticut ? I mean they legally obtained all their guns and magazines and were never required to have any kind of permits. what do they do, sell all their stuff before moving ?

This, in my opinion, is like many laws that get pushed through. Little or no thought is put into them and they have to go back later with clarifications -or- leave it up to the courts to determine the intent of the lawmakers ... Haste makes for bad laws!!

Not my children, my 16 y/o daughter is an NRA Apprentice Instructor and can probably out shoot most LEO, especially those in the northeast.
