winchester wildcat varmint

Post by Joe S. on Sun Feb 07, 2010 5:59 pm

Picked me one up today. Thanks to brad (muddawg95yj) for the hook up. Put the scope off my 44 mag lever on there. Haven't shot it yet but I am ready to! Smile

Anyone else got one?

These are Russian made at the Tula factory http://www.tulatoz.ru/en/toz78.html for Winchester. They are a copy of the TOZ-78 with better bluing and an "Americanized" stock. They are very accurate rifles. Some have problems excepting 3/8 .22 rings because they are set up for a 8.5mm dovetail

I have the standard model Wildcat NIB unfired, a set of Millett angle- loc rings will tighten up fine and are what most people have wound up using to solve the ring problem on the standard model with the undersized groove.

The bull barreled target varmit model is drilled and tapped for a scope base as well as having +/- 3/8 groove

Joe, hope you enjoy yours. My brother has the target model and I take it out sometimes. That is one sweet shooting 22 and I think the wood on them looks great. Been wanting to pick one up myself. Congrats!
