Whats the best concealed carry in 9mm?

Post by MrCheerfull on Wed Apr 17, 2013 7:55 pm

Now that the weather is getting warmer, I've been tossing around carrying a sub-compact 9mm. My Glock 19 and 1911 get a bit uncomfortable during the spring/summer. I've been considering purchasing and cc something smaller. I'm considering the: Glock 26, Taurus PT709, Ruger LC9, and Beretta Nano. Any thoughts?

Not a fan of the Kel-Tec PF9?

I have a pf9. Flawless function for me thus far. I'm a fan. Hard to beat for those on a budget, and fits in the pocket pretty nicely.

The best is likely the Rohrbaugh R9. The best that fall in a reasonable price range is up for debate.

All good choices, find the one that fits your hand and budget best, then go for it.

I would put my money on a kahr cm9 as best bang for the buck. The one I shot was worlds better than the pf9 I had. I hated that thing. For the maybe $100 difference in price, even my admittedly cheap self wouldn't hesitate

G26 is always the answer!

when i bought my first one it was $499 at academy. the kahr CW9 was the same price. i really like the kahr for it's thinner profile and stainless slide.

i bought the glock because it had a proven track record, carried by many professionals, glock specialized in a design and stayed true to it for years, and it came with two magazines.

the CW9 is a budget grade kahr. less machining of the slide, mim parts, and only one mag. i am not up on current msrp of either, but as far as i'm concerned the best 9mm ever made was the G26. i traded a cz75 for my second (2=1&1=0)

Walther PPS is worth a look. Basically a single stack Glock.

Yep. My brother has a PM9 and a PM45, and both are very nice. Many of these smaller pistols aren't enjoyable to shoot, but both of those are pleasant to shoot.

The sub compact 9mm market is full of great choices. It would be hard to get a bad gun. My first picks would be a G26 or CM9. The CM9 carries a little better but the G26 is a Glock.

What ever you can hit with and conceal to the degree you are hunting.

Here in the south I wear about the same clothes year round(t-shirt and jeans) and can conceal my 1911 just as good as my old Keltec PF9. Hate I ever traded that one. The Keltec is just lighter and easier to carry for me.

Glock! I shoot the 26 better than any of my other handguns of all sizes and calibers. I carry one EVERY day. Never felt undergunned and I've never felt like it was too big.

I'm a big time Ruger fanboy too, but the LC9 isn't the be all, end all either....

My vote would be for the Shield, light, thin and rides well in a Foxx IWB.

My 9mm PPS sure does shoot good---it is deadly accurate at 30 ft. in. I carry it the most out of my "carry guns."
