In regard to +P ammunition from what I've read, there aren't any SAAMI standards for a .380 +p so it technically doesn't exist regardless of what some manufacturers label their products as (Buffalo Bore, Cor-bon).

Don't Forget that Walther is now making a polymer frame 380 bases on the P22 called the PK380. I've heard good things about it if a 380 is what you want. Size wise you can get Kahr MK9 that is actually smaller or even a baby Glock is in the same size area. If you want to go ultra small I would opt for one of the new SIG 238s in 380 or the Mustang that was listed above.
Bersa's seem to be OK, but where I work they stopped carrying them, because of warranty issues. Couldn't get anyone to work on them if needed.

Bersa has a lifetime warranty. Quite a few warranty service places.
A good one here.. http://www.coloradogunworks.com/

Re: I knew I’d forget

In my post dated 3/30 I wrote, “I expect to be out to the range again this week. If I don’t forget (and that’s a gamble) I’ll shoot a sample target.”

Well, guess what…..

Was up to Whitetail Ridge Outdoors this morning. Got all set up. Went digging for the .380. Fogot it! And while I had written in the 3/30 post, “I initially got this as my CCW but have since opted to something else.”, the Bersa typically has not been far from reach. Unfortunately this time I had done some changing around and voila! It wasn’t there.

Talk about egg on your face.

Well, I’ll be back out to a range early next week, weather permitting, and will do my best to not forget then.

My mind is flitting away.

I have a Bersa that I bought to keep in the car. I was impressed the way it shot. Still to big for me to carry but I still like it.

It’s been a couple months now since any posts have been made to this particular topic.

As you read over what has been posted, it’s amazing the knee-jerk reactions (no disrespect intended) whenever the .380 is mentioned.

I came across an article by George Harris, “Beats A Sharp Stick”, in the May/June issue of Concealed Carry magazine. It provides an interesting counterpoint to the 380/9mm/45/etc/etc discussions.

In the article he looks at the .22 rimfire. As I said, rightly or wrongly, it’s an interesting counterpoint.

If you get a chance take a look at it.

I'm just not gonna bet my life on a .380! A .38 yea! I'm not nocking a BERSA. I just like a little more BANG FOR MY BUCK.
9mm is as small as I would carry in a semi-auto. And ammo is cheaper & more abundant.

All 3 of my boss's at the store I work at carry KEL-TEK .380's. After watching them shoot. I told them to make sure they they yelled DUCK! before they used it on someone. They shot my RUGER LCR .38 and actualy hit were they were aiming. But told me it was a little big to carry in their pocket. scratch affraid censored So go figure.

I have owned 2 of these guns. I was stupid and let the first one get away from me on a brain fart. the first one was just a 7rnd plain duo tone model and I just went and bought my second one which is complete black. It is the double stack 15rnd model bought it 2 days ago used at vans in brandon and only paid 279 tax included. The first one I had I put well over 2000 rnds though it in the first year I had it and never onces had a FTF FTE or any other malfuction from it. Some people may not like them and think they are worthless and that's fine everyone is entitled to their openion but I personally dont think they are, especially with all the new SD loads they are comming out with for them such as the golden sabre and the hornady loads.

I bought Cwink's little 380 Thunder Deluxe and believe it's one of the best handgun purchases I've made. It has a nicer blued finish than most of them that are black parked and is actually a handsome little piece. The thing I like about it is that it's always hungry and eats anything you feed it. It's one of the most accurate guns I own. The sights are adjustable, but I haven't touched them. It came with a single 9 round mag and I bought a couple of 7 rounders for the range. I'll probably keep it the rest of my life, especially considering how little I have in it. I usually buy a box of 380s every time I go to the store just to keep it fat and happy. Thankfully, they're cheaper and easier to come by now days. I'd trust my life to this little jewel. I'd know it's limitations, but I'd also know it could save me, as well, if I keep my wits about me and do my part.

The gun's designed for a BUG and anyone that carries it as a primary is fooling themselves. I wouldn't choose to shoot outside about 15'. Someone could close that distance before I could get the 3-4 shots it would take to stop them or at least make it an even fight.
BTW, half the people that have poo'd the .380 thought enough of them to buy one. They only succumbed to peer pressure when they went to the range and got laughed at by guys w/ 40 oz. 45's or 357's that could never be carried in the 9 months of summer we have around here.

You’re obviously not new to the Bersa PPK-clones so I know you’ll enjoy that gun very much. If you’ll go back to page 1 in this thread, in my post dated Mar 30, 2010, I write about my experiences with the Bersa 380.

Oh, yes, take a look at my post dated Jun 9. I wrote, in part, “As you read over what has been posted, it’s amazing the knee-jerk reactions (no disrespect intended) whenever the .380 is mentioned.” Oh well, that’s how it goes.

Again, you’re not new to the Bersa PPK-clones, obviously. If you’re looking for a fun .22 PPK-clone, take a look at my thread, “Firestorm FS22LR” at: http://www.msgunowners.com/t9504-firestorm-fs22lr

That is one fun gun to shoot.
