Bad 9mm ammo

Post by 9c4me on Mon Apr 29, 2013 10:06 am

Bought 1k rounds of this before the panic and recently broke into it. Have had 3 rounds jam my gun in the past 2 weeks, the rounds looked like the bullet wasn't seated properly or straight. Examined and chamber-checked the remaining 700 rounds and found 6 more like this-

Sorry for crappy cell phone pic but you can probably see how the jacket is peeled back and caused the casings to be bulged on one side. I don't reload so just wondered exactly what caused this during the process? You'd think factory ammo would be better inspected.

looks like a plated bullet. mine do that when the bell is not enough on the case when reloading.

you can try cutting off the roll and try a chamber check again. to do that, remove your barrel from the gun and drop the ammo in the chamber to see if it will go in. if its just a handful though, i wouldn't worry with them.

UGH!
Not good.
I once bought two boxes of 45auto of that same brand.
(It was on sale-bargain price)
Worst ammo I had ever used.
Made WWB look like match ammo.

Good to see that you figured out the problem. I didn't notice that on those rounds at the range the other day when I looked at them. I also didn't have my glasses on either! Haha. Maybe the rest will shoot though.
