Hello from Hattiesburg, via Jackson and originally Natchez...
I've been lurking for quite awhile, just never taking the time to finally post. Glad to see there is such a forum and hope it continues to grow and do well. It's a great resource and has a lot of potential. I look forward to being a part and helping out where I can.
As far as an introduction, my name is Bryant Chaffin and I grew up in Natchez and still have family there and in the SW corner of the State. Like most of you, I imagine, I grew up around firearms. I went to college and law school in Jackson, and while there I shot my first United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) match in August of 2000. I finished middle of the pack or a little below, but I was hooked and started shooting matches and practicing as often as I could afford (both time and money...). A few years later, while serving as a law clerk for the Mississippi Court of Appeals, I was elected President of the local club that shoots at Magnolia Rifle and Pistol Club near Byram, and ran the club for two years. After the end of my clerkship, a job with a private firm brought me to Hattiesburg, and a good friend and fraternity brother of mine, John Heiter, was elected to run what is now "Team Magnolia" (www.teammagnolia.com) and continues to do a great job in that role. Subsequently I was elected (or appointed, I'm not really sure...) Mississippi Section Coordinator for USPSA. This basically entails providing information to new shooters and serving as a liaison between the Mississippi clubs and the National Organization. It's not something I mind, but if there is anyone interested or wants to take the baton and run with it, I am all ears.
Anyway, I digress. I am a NRA Certified Basic Pistol Instructor and compete regularly when I can. USPSA/IPSC is still my favorite, especially 1st Sunday matches at Magnolia, but I shoot steel on occasion and have also been known to shoot some 3-gun and skeet from time to time and I even shot a cowboy action match or two along the way. I load all of my competition ammo and have 8 or 9 years experience with Dillon progressive presses, for whatever that is worth. I have an older brother that used to shoot a lot of black powder cartridge stuff, but he hasn't shot much in quite a while. That is something I need to work on, getting him back out on the range and shooting some with him.
I know a good many members from matches or otherwise, and I am sure there are others I would know if I heard their real names. Regardless, I look forward to meeting more of you on the range as well as through the forum and helping out however I can. If I can ever be of any assistance to anyone, don't hesitate to send me a PM and I will do my best to help or put you in contact with someone that can.
Thanks,
Bryant

Thanks for the warm welcome. Considering my, ahem, occupation, and a few comments about individuals in said occupation I've seen around the forum, I am pleasantly surprised. LOL.
I have been down to Pearlington a few times G1D, but it has been more than a year. I need to make it down that way for a match soon.
