Winchester 94s

Post by Xd357 on Mon Mar 01, 2010 12:14 pm

Who's got them? This gun has been on my want list for some time. I've found them from time to time but never seem to have the cash on me.

Anyway let's see them. Post a pic of yours.

I got one, but no pic cause it is way back in the safe. There is/was a rossi/puma 44mag for sale on here that is just a copy. They shoot great. I got rid of a Marlin once to get a 45LC Rossi and hands down the Rossi is much better, but nothing beats a good ole Winchester 30-30.

Don't buy a 94 made after 1975. They are JUNK.

I'm pullin my hair out! I'd have given him 125 for it! Very Happy

I don't have one yet either. I want to try out the winchester, henry, and rossi/ puma. I'm a marlin guy thru and thru, but there's plenty of Joe to go around! Very Happy

ALWAYS a 30-30 in the truck. Pawn shop gun, if stolen, $200 will replace it. Recently upgraded to a trapper in 44mag. Alot more nervous about this one coming up gone. Not a $200 gun. It is nice though. Also have a 444 timber carbine. Deer nomally cut a flip when hit with it. Kills on both ends though, lol.

I handled one today. It was a nice gun but I want a 30-30. Price was right under $400.

As a new member if figured it was my duty salute/flag (plus there’s some great info here) to go back and read all the old posts. This one caught my attention. I love lever actions, the older the better! IMHO it’s a lot more fulfilling to ring plates with a 100+ year old lever action than it is with one of my AR’s. I just went through my inventory and I currently have lever actions in 20ga, .45-70, .44-40, .40-82, .38-40, .35 Rem, .32 Win. Special, .32-20, .308, .303 Sav, .300 Sav, .30-30, .250 Sav and .22. I’m sure some of them feel neglected since they haven’t been shot in a while. None of them are safe queens. I think I need to take off work early this afternoon and go do some shootin’. If I get a chance this weekend I may pull them out and take a family photo.

A friend of mine has a pre 64 model Winchester 30-30 (from what I heard they are supposed to be made with forged parts) that he was showing me he got in a trade with someone. It's in great condition. He is retired and a big skeet shooter and is at the range just about everyday. He is always trading and buying. It was a couple of months ago when he was showing it to me and I ask what he had to have for it and I think he said around $800.
