Shot shell data needed

I just bought some of these hulls. http://www.precisionreloading.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PRE&Product_Code=HLR12PH8S&Category_Code=12_GA_2_3-4 I didn't know at the time but they are the Remington Nitro Mag SPELV shell with a yellow plastic basewad. I have since found out that these are used with steel shot and a have a slightly larger capacity than unibody shells of the same make. I can't find any loading data in my RCBS manual. I need a recipe for these with 1 1/8 oz lead shot.

Another related question: I measured the above hull's liquid water capacity and found it to match exactly the capacity of some Federal field load hulls with the 9/16th paper basewad. If the two hull volumes/capacities match exactly, and both are straight walled types, and the lengths are the same, why can't I just consider their load data interchangeable?

I'm new to shotshell reloading and I'm trying to find a decent set of components to work with. If I had known about this SPELV issue with the larger capacity I wouldn't have bought them. I guess thats why they were in stock.

If I can't find a good printed recipe for these, I'm going to have to experiment until I find something that "feels" good. - cuz they are really pretty and shiny.

Try this -- they list Remington Nitro 27 cases .. don't know if they are the same thing ...

I have loaded like case volumes without problem .. started with "light" loads ( 1 to 1 1/8oz) and worked up ... I need to get back in the shotshell thing .. probably have not loaded a shotshell in 20yrs - just to load all my duck loads until the mandatory steel shot thing came into play ...

cap, here is a scan of the hulls I have. The one on the bottom is what I bough and the nitro27 is at the top. The nitro27 is a unibody hull and the SPELV is a straight wall.

H20 capacity for the sts on the top is 15.4 to 15.8ml and the SPELV is 16.8ml. A milliliter is not much. I wonder if its enough to worry about.

I have found that all the remington unibody 2.75" type hulls I've measured seem to be within the above parameters, making them all interchangeable for reload recipes. The straightwall is a bit more capacity, but loading info for them seems to be slim. I was kind of flabergasted that my brand new RCBS manual has no load data for any Rem. straightwalled with plastic basewad hulls. The nitro mag shell is the same high brass design and also has no data in my book.

I would look at Federal or Cheddite(sp?) loading data.
