It is much easier to ask for forgiveness than it is for permission..

I think we may be missing a decent opportunity to educate people about firearms. I'm one who believes that open carry should be common placed in all states (even without a permit). People have to start seeing more guns in order to become desensitized to them. Seeing a gun, in my opinion, should be just as common as seeing someone's car key. Our society will be much better off if we can ever get to this point. After all, an armed society is a polite society.

By the way, I understand the consequences of losing the tactical advantage while open carrying. That's why I keep my theft-deterrent device under wraps most of the time. However, if we ever get to a 100% open-carry society, there will be almost no need for the tactical advantage of concealed carry.

I read that and thought to myself, how many people that OC are harassing little kids? I not sure how that applies to the argument. I guess everybody who carries rather openly or concealed are trouble makers.

I'll bet the article about the 4 slain police officers in Washington would have read differnt if some civilians in that coffee shop were armed. JMO
