XD40 sub compact. Owned a Glock 22, did not like the angle of the grip and experienced a KaBooooom with it and won't own another

I'm on my 3rd Glock, a 21 a 22 (both gone) and a 22RTF that I still have, or my wife does. Keeps it on her dresser with the light mounted on it and 2 extra magazines. A Glock isn't my favorite but it's a good working gun.

Got my Springfield XD Tactical 9mm just recently and took it out to the range. Love this pistol. So did the other two guys that shot it and the wife likes it too. May have to get this in a .45 lol

I'm thinking it might not have happened now. We ain't getting any info on it. Kinda like all the rest you hear of. It happened and then there is no real evidence to show what the real cause was. I am beginning to believe when something goes wrong with a Glock, whatever it may have been, it is almost always reffered to as a Kaboooom whether or not it is or isn't. JMHO.

Sorry for the delay in responding to your questions. First I must say that I was told the weapon was a 1st generation G22 ex police weapon that I bought that appeard to be well used with an unknown number or type of ammo down the tube. The local gunsmith stated that the barrel was well worn and that it appeared to have experienced a catastrophic chamber failure either caused by metal fatigue, poor design or ammo failure. He also stated that the G22 had less chamber support than most .40 caliber guns and would be less tolerant of an overpressure than most weapons on the market. This weapon was an add on to sweeten a gun and ammo swap. First trip to the range and the third WWB target round fired the weapon or ammo failed. The remaining 47 rounds of WWB ammo was fired the same afternoon in a XD40 and a S&W M&P 40 without incident.

Got an XD now, but may be 100% 1911 before too long.

Glocks are ok, but had higher hopes for the XD.

1911s are kind of like the firstborn. Irreplaceable!

Just bought a Glock 31 .357 sig with night sights. Feels good and shoots good. Definitly has a different sound to it than my XD-40. I liked the XD, but always wanted to try a Glock. So far no complaints. Heck, I might try them all! thinking
