I would have never thought the score would be this way. everybody seems to like the "darkside". Guess when your want to depend on something, make it one of the 2 choices.......or atleast the greater percentage of folks anyway with the other small percentage going to the hardcore 1911 guys.....

I'm a hard core 1911 guy . . . . . .with a XDM . I can't believe Xd has that much market share with Glock already , it's pretty impressive .

XD is a good gun for Glock Haters although the triggers suck. I have shoot them XD & XD(m), not impressed enough to buy one yet though. if a good deal came along, i would buy though just for comparison shooting.

not shot one, but dry fired one once and it was much better. The factory trigger especially the XD is bad IMO. Some work on one and it ain't too bad. XDm trigger is better than the other, but I like Glock trigger best (not including a 1911). For a really hateful trigger, a Baretta 92 takes the cake. i absolutely hate those....

I own both. Glock23 is my every day carry and XD9sc w/stainless steel slide is my wife's every day carry. Both are fine pistols.

lol well I just added another glock to the house. a brand new 22. so I 2 to 1 glock vs xd.

the trigger is aweful on my xd 40 compared to my 17 and 22 with trigger jobs. I was going to send it to springer for a trigger job but since I got my g20 I think its just going to stay as is for a while. Althoug it does shoot tight groups out about 12 yards. they open up alot @ 15 + though

The biggest plus to a Glock is avaliability of parts to customize to your preference. 1911 can be tuned just the same, but XD limits you. Your options are nearly endless with Glocks.

No matter how much you customize, a glock is still ugly, as is an xd. But the 1911 can't help but be sexy, either mil-spec or tricked out.
Maybe they could make a mask for a glock to look like a 1911...

Forget ugly- Glocks run...plain and simple

Put that 22 up,take that 1911 and shoot single stack at USPSA match Sunday Hammer...better bring your A game...practice those malfunction drills

BTW the glocks rarely have FTF, FTE issues...but boy the 1911's do

I own neither. I have shot a few glocks and didn't really care for them. Why are we choosing between only these two? I say shoot what you trust. If you have a gun, 1911, glock, xd, or otherwise that has some issues, i'd say check your ammo or mags. Or just get an FNP and you won't have those problems anymore.
