We just loaded for my .41 for the first time, and we went with h4227. My ruger liked it.

Re: 2400 for my .41 magnumn
I haven't tried it yet. Its supposed to be good - Lyman's 49th manual lists it, and even recommends it, for some loads. However, they only list jacketed bullet loads and I haven't been able to find any jacketed bullets yet. When I do, I'll run a comparison between 2400 and Winchester 296.
Right now I'm just using 215 grain lead semi-wadcutters and Unique. Not magnum performance, but an accurate load at about 950 feet per second. I don't have a chrony, so I'm just guessing on the speed.

I use the 215 grain "Trooper" bullet from Missouri Bullet Co. with 7.8 grains of Unique and standard LP primer. Not a powerful load, but is tidding me over while I await jacketed bullets.
