carry at the zoo? Updated!!

Post by 3spop on Fri Mar 19, 2010 7:50 am

Anybody know if you can carry at the Memphis zoo? I know this is a TN question, but I'm a MS boy.

I saw on the Memphis news they had trouble there yesterday. They had free admission and Memphis city schools were out on spring break. They said there 25000 kids there. Several fights in the zoo thought to be gang related. Several cops came and made a bunch of them leave. Then they spilled out into Overton park and started shooting! I wonder if they'll have a free day during spring break again.

Which brings up another good question. What about carrying at the Jackson zoo?

Memphis is a zoo. Jxn too. I can rhyme, can you?

On a more serious note, TN has a wonderful law that says you aren't prosecuted for illegal carry if the reason that you are discovered carrying is b/c you used your gun in a justifiable manner. While it does have the effect of encouraging unlawful carry, I still think it is admirable.

Hell yeah at the Jxn zoo...you could get shot just trying to drive down Capitol St.

I would not go any where in Memphis (Home invasion Capitol of the South) without a piece.

I've spent time in Memphis, use to date a nurse there, and I'm with those who say don't go anywhere in Memphis without a gun. The VA hospital is in one of the worst parts of town, and I've spent months at a time there.
I like Tenn., but they can have ALL of Memphis.

I'll bet the response will be more gun restrictions. Which of course would have done nothing to prevent this situation since the teens were carrying illegally anyway.

I've got to go to Memphis this June for a few days...not looking forward to it. We're having a convention and have rented the entire hotel from Wednesday thru Saturday. Anyone know anything about the area around the University of Memphis?

And yep, I will have PLENTY of extra mags with me!
