I don't want to go to court, having had to shoot someone and the other attorney start asking and talking about RIP ammo.... painting a picture of something I am not. They would love to have RIP on their side. Just one of my fleeting thoughts about this stuff.....

MrClean makes a good point, which for all intents and purposes should be moot. I will not be shooting someone to tickle them. Although I totally understand your point!

Makes Hornady's "Critical Defense" seem like marketing/naming genius, doesn't it?

Yep, all about perception and what they can sway a jury to 'think'.

HA! yep, excellent 'name' for ammo there.

I'm still waiting for the "Can't we just all get along" ammo...

The flip side of this is if you are dealing with, say a crack or methhead, would it look better or worse to shoot someone once or twice with rip or 5 or 6 times with less lethal(effective) ammo?  Trade off on everything.  It don't matter what is in mine, gonna quit when the threat is no longer there.

A friend of mine sent me a link on this a week or so ago. I'm thinking it's the flavor-of-the-day. My response to him was along the lines of "there's plenty of dead people out there thanks to cheap ammo."

His reply: "fact"

FWIW

Probably won't be long before it goes the way of BLACK TALON ammo. LEO only.
