There doesn't seem to be a tab for Firearms Permit renewal online yet.

Re: where do you renew
I doubt there ever will be.
Every time you renew you will be fingerprinted. We know your prints do not change, but your eligibility to be a permit holder can. Our laws require a background check thru the FBI. The FBI will not check a set of fingerprints that are over six (6) months old.

Thought the law was changed last July that would allow you to only have to go down to to a DL station every other renewal and an online renewal process would be allowed like your DL....Maybe I'm mis-informed

Re: where do you renew
(12) (a) No less than ninety (90) days prior to the expiration date of the license, the Department of Public Safety shall mail to each licensee a written notice of the expiration and a renewal form prescribed by the department. The licensee must renew his license on or before the expiration date by filing with the department the renewal form, a notarized affidavit stating that the licensee remains qualified pursuant to the criteria specified in subsections (2) and (3) of this section, and a full set of fingerprints administered by the Department of Public Safety or the sheriff of the county of residence of the licensee. The first renewal may be processed by mail and the subsequent renewal must be made in person. Thereafter every other renewal may be processed by mail to assure that the applicant must appear in person every ten (10) years for the purpose of obtaining a new photograph.
(i) Except as provided in this subsection, a renewal fee of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) shall also be submitted along with costs for processing the fingerprints;
(ii) Honorably retired law enforcement officers shall be exempt from the renewal fee; and
(iii) The renewal fee for a Mississippi resident aged sixty-five (65) years of age or older shall be Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00).

Go to Title 45, Chapter 9, Section 101, "ยง 45-9-101. License to carry stun gun, concealed pistol or revolver."
And you must get a new fingerprint at each renewal; so that has to be mailed in:
QUESTION: Do I have to be re-fingerprinted every time I renew my permit?
Yes. Every time you renew you will be fingerprinted.

Re: where do you renew
There have been changes, though they may not have been well publicized.
When I came up for renewal last year, I got a letter and application forms in the mail about two months before the expiration date. The cover letter mentioned renewing by mail, but it took me a couple of phone calls to Jackson to get all the info I needed.
Basically, you fill out the forms and have them notarized, then send the completed packet, along with $82 to the address on the letter. You DO NOT have to submit new fingerprints. My new permit arrived in the mail less than ten days later.
Someone in Jackson needs to get their act together. A friend's son was ready to go through the whole process until he got someone on the phone who actually knew what to do. His renewal took about as long as mine.
You can only renew by mail every other time, so you'll submit new fingerprints every ten years instead of every five.
