I had a blast throwin lead down range. Big thanks to the subgunfan for greasing her up and showin me what to do. Made a few friends and had fun spotting for clay and the second group that shot.
I didnt miss the target completely :-) even had a few 10 ring hits.
Cant wait for the next match now.

Report from HP Match and working at Magnolia today......
xd357, I saw you in the building before the match, but didn't see you come over and say "hello"..................
I got to the range at 7:30 AM and Johnny & Clay already had most of the targets setup. The 3 of us finished the 10 targets and moved back to the firing line.

After the shooters arrived and the first relay layed out their gear, we had a shooter's meeting for the new shooters.

The first relay guns...... A mix of Garands and ARs.

My little spot for today's HP match................

This is nonnieselman shooting his first HP match with his BRAND NEW CMP Garand (got it this past Thursday). n-selman, it was nice to meet you today. n-selman seemed tickled sh*tless with his new Garand, and should be.... it is a beautiful Garand. I lubed it up for him and gave him some clips, (and a little shooting advise) and he did the rest................................. We will see how well when the scores come out............ After the relay I gave him 3 clips of Lake City ammo for his new Garand, and told him to shoot that ammo wisely............. I think n-selman will be back to future HP matches.........................
I had to leave the HP match before it finished (Relay #2) to run to the Post Office to get new member applications for the new member course at 2 PM. After giving the course I started WORKING.................

I didn't cut these trees down.....
These trees were cut to make room for the new 40' x 60' pavillion Magnolia is going to build. First the stumps must be removed and then a dirt pad put in. Work should start in a few weeks.
What I did do today was.........................................

Hooked the little yellow wagon to the club's ATV and..............

Filled in 4 potholes on the main road. There are more potholes to fill, but I got tired after 4..........
Those damn potholes are bigger than they look (when you are trying to fill them in). This is the MONSTER pothole at the main gate that took 3 loads.

2 potholes at the main gate filled.

Pothole #3 filled.

And finally..... Pothole #4 fillled. All 4 potholes filled by myself...... More potholes to fill and Captain said he would ATTACK a few of them. Thanks Captain.
And YES..... Another LONG day for me......
When I get the HP match scores from Johnny, I will post them on MSGO.

I'll need a copy of the density tests to make sure you compacted the gravel to specs.

Sorry for not getting the scores out sooner. I'll be sending them to Dan tonight, hopefully.
Thanks to everyone who came out to the match. I hope to see everyone again at the April 8 match as well.

Re: HP match at Magnolia this Saturday (3/27)
Any of you Magnolia HP shooters thought about going to McComb this Saturday (4/3) to shoot their 600yd HP match.....?
200-300-600yds with open sights...... Will be a humbling experience for me....... Remember, they have a REAL target pit which is fun to work.
Here is the link to give you an idea of their HP setup.....

We Magnolia HP shooters need to go and "try" to kick their butts....

HP Match Scores............. finally
M1GarandFan (Johnny) emailed me the HP match scores this morning. When I got home tonight (yes, I work 2 jobs also) I had to put them in a format to post here. NOTE: Johnny said he will recheck to verify the scores............

I beat Parker.....
I have been trying for 2 years to beat Parker. Hey Parker, buy your own sight-black... you bum...
Look at n-selman's score..... I guess my little bit of coaching helped, but I think n-selman is a "natural"........... Not bad for only having his Garand for 2 days before the match...... Watch out for this guy.....
The next HP match at Magnolia is April 10th starting at 8 AM. Targets at 200yds... Bring what you got (we bend the rules a little).
