Thank you. I sure appreciate your input.
It’s nice to know at least one person reads this drivel of mine. Of course my ego gets a boost too and I tend to continue spewing out this stuff.
If you do try the trimmed photo-realistic silhouettes I’d like to hear how it goes. Using the trimmed silhouettes does alter things a bit.

It is always good to keep the ladies HAPPY........
Brownie Points are a good thing..........
You need to get them some steel to shoot at. Ringing steel is always FUN....... But can be HEAVY to haul around......

You’ve got that right when you write, “It is always good to keep the ladies HAPPY”.
There is a light article, a fun-read, in the May/June, 2011, issue of Concealed Carry magazine by Miguel Gonzalez titled, “Better Let Her Pack”. Having brought up the subject of taking the ladies to the range, I thought this article sort of added to the subject.
As I said, it’s a fun read and you should be able to find it at:

PS – If I’ve not said this before, let me add that I sure appreciate your input. At least I know there’s one person reading my stuff! Thank you.

Ed..... you are a Mother....... Mother of Invention.....
Moving targets are always fun to shoot (at)...... The hits are up to the shooter.........
Something I will do one day..... Build an 8' x 8' frame from 2x4s. Hang 4 quart size Gatorade bottles filled with water 2' apart. The key is the hanging string is 3-4' long for plenty of SWINGING. Drill a small hole in the center of each bottle cap and run the string through and tie a big knot. Screw the caps back on and you are ready to shoot. Large caliber guns preferred.....
I am "ashamed" to admit...... I have many plastic garbage bag full of Gatorade bottles laying around the house just for "the day".....

Dan
Thank you for the compliment....at least I think that was a compliment!
And, while I’ve got something of a captive audience here (aren’t you lucky) let me expound a bit further with a little background on what I wrote Friday.
What I described this past Friday was a second attempt at a hanging-file-based hanger for the Cannery Row. The hanger in the 6/10 post was an improvement (we trust an improvement but have yet toextablish that) over the one I had made up earlier this past week (let’s call that earlier hanger the “prototype”...just to add a little class to this scribbling)..
Take a look at the picture below. The “prototype” is shown on the top. You’ll note that the can hook was formed by simply twisting one end of the hanging-file-hanger.
I used this “prototype” hanger this past week out at the range. It worked but too often the can would come off the hanger (particularly when using larger caliber centerfires) and I got tired of walking that 50 or 60 feet to reset the can (haven't I written somewhere about being lazy?).
Will take the arrangement described in my 6/10 post out probably first thing this coming Tuesday morning. We’ll see how it works.
Ed

robbyw,
Interesting posting.
You may or may not have read them (can well appreciate your skipping over them), but back in September I did some stronghand/weakhand-only from-the-driver’s-seat simulations. My premise was/is - If you carry in a vehicle you should be sufficiently practiced in using the handgun, effectively and safely, from the driver’s seat.
If you haven’t had the opportunity (?!?) to look at them you can go to: http://www.msgunowners.com/t4188p120-9mm-1911-s, page 7, for the postings dated 9/14/10 & 9/21/10.
In there somewhere I recommend regular and routine dry-fire from-the-driver’s-seat practice.
Now don’t take this wrong, it is meant in the most positive and friendly manner.....
I would agree that live fire is, generally speaking, better than dry-fire. But, please be careful with what you are doing. There could be a strong potential for an accident.
Having said that, keep up the practice (however you see fit), ‘cause if you carry in a vehicle you’ve got to be able to handle that firearm from the vehicle.
By the way, I plan to revisit my stronghand/weakhand-only from-the-driver’s-seat simulation in the very near future. When I do you’ll find it in this thread.

In my reply dated 6/18/11 (above) to robbyw, I wrote, in part, “...I plan to revisit my stronghand/weakhand-only from-the-driver’s-seat simulation in the very near future. When I do you’ll find it in this thread.”
Well, yes and no, as it worked out.
Yes, I have rerun the from-the-driver’s-seat simulation.
But no, I didn’t post it here. You can find it by jumping over to:

SHOOT HER IN THE TA-TAs............
Ed, another great report. Thanks.
Question...... In the second hallway setup (shooting from the right side), why did you engage the dude first then the girl? Looking around the corner you will see the girl first.
And finally........ WOW, there is A LOT of TRASH on the berm.....

Glad you enjoyed it.
Regarding the order of fire in round two - I FORGOT TO CHANGE THE NUMBERS!!!!!
I think I've got the narrative right, though.
And, yes, I did do Annie first. (I think I've made a double entendre there)
Good Lord, I'm really going to have to proof this stuff.

Yeah, rub it in....
I know I’m beating this to death, but this has really gotten under my skin.
I feel like the value of the whole doggone report has been minimized.
But for the record here’s the graphic, as it should have been, in all its radiant glory.
And, Dan, I really appreciate your input (nice to know someone’s paying attention) and your calling this to my attention. My ego needs flattening every so often!

Over the past year or so I’ve posted some items having to do with shooting “From The Driver’s Seat”. See:
9/14/10 Strong Hand Only/ Weak Hand Only, From The Chair – I
http://www.msgunowners.com/t4188p120-9mm-1911-s
9/21/10 Strong Hand Only/ Weak Hand Only, From The Chair – II

6/29/11 From The Driver’s Seat, 380 Simulations, Stronghand/Weakhand-Only
http://www.msgunowners.com/t4058-bersa-thunder-380
I see now where Guns and Ammo TV has produced a quickie video, Shooting Out Of A Car, dated 8/5/11, on this very subject. Interesting similarities. So, I can’t be too far off target.
