I think the gun would be cheaper had they not used Troy quad rails they are a pricey company
Re: Ruger to Produce a "Black Rifle" - AR
I want a Para Ord ar before I would consider a ruger.

Well that 2K is probably mfg retail....You'd probably be able to get one for $1200 or $1300 I'm guessing...If you can find them.
I can't seem to locate much of anything new from Ruger these days...can't seem to find any sp101's in 327, or LCR's or LCP's

I would wait until the second generation of any new ruger was available before buying one. They seem to have quality/safety issues with any new gun they make.

AC-556
Leave it to Ruger. They already made a model 556, the AC-556, years and years ago. It was a select-fire Mini-14 some of which made it into the NFA Registry, and are privately owned.

man most of the ruger firearms are back ordered or you have to buy 15 other guns along with the ruger to locate one

I am interested in some of the newer piston-type gas system rifles like the Ruger, Sig or Robinson Arms. Anyone here have any experience (good or bad) with this type rifle? I think they will prove to be superior to AR-15 system but want some input before purchase. TIA CY

I shouldered the new ruger ar today at the local gun shop... my 2 pennies would be get a sig

I shouldered one at the last gun show in jackson. It was 1400 bucks. If I had the money and needed any more guns, I'd have bought it. Considering it already comes with a nice rail system, good flip up sights, and a gas piston system, the price isn't too bad IMO. I've only seen good reviews so far for this gun.

It is a great feeling rifle in my opinion. It is heavy, but it is also designed to take on other chamberings besides 223.

I'm gonna have to agree with Methos. The Rugers are a little price but that's a lot of gun for the money. It would be much more expensive to buy a cheap a-4 then add the piston system, quad rail, and flip-up sights. I'm sure the quality of the Ruger AR is on par with the rest of their products as well.

What I've seen they look good, and are about $1500 retail. The para rifles are hard to get, and are closer to $1900. The Para Rifle is not a true piston gun though. It's a delayed direct impingement operating system. Kind of a hybrid, but should still run a little cleaner and cooler than a standard AR.

I had a chance to fiddle with one this past weekend. Let me tell you I was not to impressed with piston systems until I picked up this bad boy. I am now a believer.

Re: Ruger to Produce a "Black Rifle" - AR
I own one. I bought the rifle when they first came out. The upper and lower fit together tightly. The trigger is your normal AR type. I would like to switch it out to something better, more along the lines of a RRA NM Two Stage. Took it out, shot a couple of boxes with friends, no trouble at all. Love all the chrome!
That's an EOTech 512 on top with the GG&G flip up covers and GG&G quick detach mount. Great products, the lens were a pain to put on, though.
The Beta Mag was just for laughs!
That's a fake grip-pod.
