Oops!

This next match is carbine only?

Hmmm..... I've got a carbine that's all to pieces and needs the rear sight re-staked, but if I can get it un-discombobulated by then I'll try to make it.

Cool

The M1 Carbine match is shot at 100yds and is a 40rd course of fire. 10rds each in Slow-fire Prone, Rapid-fire Prone, Rapid-fire Sitting, and Slow-fire Standing.

That way a 50rd box of ammo will get you through the match. 10rds for sighters and 40rds for score.

The match starts at 9 AM. And YES... that does NOT mean arrive at 9 AM. You need to be there at 8 AM to register and setup your gear (if shooting in Relay 1). Being there at 7:30 AM to HELP setup targets is always HELPFUL......

The weather is not looking good for the Carbine match this Saturday. Keep your fingers & toes crossed that Mother Nature will keep the rains North of us.................

Well it was a "no go" today on the carbine match .... met up with SGF and M1GarandFan at the range watching the weather ... not much rain but the wind had to be gusting 30 or better ...

SGF pulled out his FAL and we put a few down range with it. First time for me shooting one and I really liked it ... It seems to be a very fine battle rifle -- well designed, easily handled, and in .308 for use 30cal folks!! Thanks for letting me handle it!!

Wife decided to go down McComb way this weekend and has left me all alone ... Did make it back to the range this afternoon between a couple of rain showers. Had some M1 Carbine ammo to burn-up since I didn't get to use it this morning. Since I was in the truck and had a shovel in the back, took a few minutes and plugged up the potholes again ......... and emptied all the trash cans ....... Cliff told me, "thank you!!"

I think we might try and have the Carbine match with the Garand match on May 22nd. I'm going to get with SGF and see about doing that.

Plus good food. Ralph Hall cooks lunch while the match is going on. I encourage everyone to come out and join us. I'll have extra Garands if people need to borrow one plus I'll bring the club Carbine and one of mine. cheers
