Carry guns
I bought this Browning at a gun show as the basis for a carry gun. I removed the clunky adjustable sights and replaced them with Trijicons. The ambidextrous thumb safety was changed out for a Cylinder and Slide high profile thumb safety. I removed the magazine safety to improve the trigger pull and dumped the spur hammer for a C&S Commander style hammer. The Spegel grips (yeah, they're pretty) got changed out in favor of Hogue wraparounds, and the 9mm recoil spring was switched for a heavier .40 caliber spring. Then a Shock Tech buffer took the place of the standard recoil spring guide.
Now I have a Browning that can handle +P+ 127-grain Ranger ammo all day long, giving me the equivalent of a 13-shot weapon that spits out rounds approximating .357 magnum ballistics.
After all that work I ended up reverting to type and now mostly carry some variant of the 1911 platform, but this one is still in the battery when I want to travel "light."

Loaded up for a trip to town, Dutch loaded Ranger and NATO 124-grain ball ammo.

"Called my stockbroker this morning and asked him what I should be buying...he said "Canned Goods and Ammunition"
That's funny. When I met with my CPA to do taxes this year, I told him that I really wasn't planning to invest some real estate income. He asked me what I was planning to do, and I told him I was going to keep some cash on hand and spend the rest on beans and bullets.
His response was that he didn't see anything whatsoever wrong with my plan.

That is a good looking Browning. I'm a fan of John
Moses' work. You made it more functional and astheticly pleasing.
