USS Pledge, mine sweeper, Viet Nam
Pic is not the best so I cant tell what exactly the center sailor is cleaning, but from the stories I've heard it may be a BAR. They didnt get any new weapons. I'm told the junk crews were just as afraid of the bowie knives that the boarding crews carried as they were the Tommy guns.

I proudly carried the M2 Carbine or the M1 Garand during my tours in Germany and my favorite cannon in Germany in the 1950's was the M65 280MM Atomic Cannon;
