Another V''burger

Post by terrybaldridge on Wed May 20, 2009 10:27 am

Hey All,

I have been reading for a while, but I guess I hadn't intro-ed myself. When I posted on another thread it said that was my first post. Guess I had better say hi here.

Even though I shot skeet pretty regularly for several years, I shoot pistols mainly any more. I was shooting ICORE with Cliff and boys in Jackson for a while, but life has gotten the better of me lately and these days I have been having a hard time getting in any shooting time at all. Hopefully that will change before long. Driving all the way to Byram to shoot requires a major commitment. Wish the range here hadn't dried up and blew away.

terry

P.S. I don't see a spell checker on this, guess you will have to put up with my spelling.

Thanks for the invite.

I am a glock fan. I am not a glock owner (yet). I keep waffling between a 19 or a 30sf or a 32. The 32 is looking really good. Drop a 9mm barrel in it so I can practice with lead reloads and then stick the 357 barrel in for more defensive purposes.

Mostly stick with the S&W revolvers these days.

just get a model 23 .40S&W and you can have the best of both world. Don't shoot lead in Glock factory barrel though. A BIG no no.

Hi Terry, Glad you found us. I shot ICORE with Cliff also, but it is a stretch. I do shoot IPSC style near Ellisville and with the Mobile guys. PM me and I will give you details. Come to the M&G if you can.

I shot ipsc a time or two with Cliff and the crew, but it always falls on the first Sunday of the month and I usually go play old time music in Clinton with some friends on the first Sunday of the month. Found after I was out in sun all morning, I didn't care to sit and play. I had to pull the plug on one of them, so, maybe foolishly, I did it on the one that required me to get up at 5:30 on Sunday morning instead of the one that let me sleep late and sit in an airconditioned building.

Sure there is free beer, but it has be from economies of scale, not from gifts or government programs. Example if beer is $1 a can or $5 a six, you, the consumer, effectively get a free beer by buying in mass. But if someone buys you a beer or the government gives you a voucher for beer, someone is still paying for that beer.

Uh, did I mention that I am an economist? I will shut up now and go back to lurking in the shadows.

Hi, folks. I'm late getting to this thread, but I am in Vicksburg, too.

I work for the Corps at ERDC.

Wish Vicksburg could keep a shooting range open. Seems like everybody but me belongs to a deer camp and shoots there so they don't need to pay an extra $100 a year to have a place to shoot.
