WHO KNOWS SOMEONE WHO CAN PROFESSIONALLY RESTORE A WW2 COLT?

I want to get my ww2 colt professionally restored so it want lose value. Does anybody know someone in Mississppi who does that.

Any restoration other than fixing broken parts will probably cause it to lose value.

I know that there is a guy in another state that takes them
and completly restores them the way they look back in ww2. And those didn't lose value at all honestly people were buying for a few thousand

If it were mine...I'd leave it the way it is...

It you wanna fix one...buy a Colt 70 series "beater" and fix it up

Doug Turnbull does quality work but it isnt cheap.

Check with Tim Thompson at Bills Custom Automatics. 1911 are his specialty but they also do restoration work. I was in there last year when a winchester model 61 or 62 pump 22 lr. was brought in and it was rusted to hell and back and the wood was pretty beaten, I think the story on it was it had water damage from katrina. I had the change to see it before the owner got it back and it looked like the day it left the winchester factory..... but like Hammer said... just about any restoration will affect the value to a degree. I would leave it like it is, those old colts with their wear and tear on them are what gives them character. and by the way where are the pics

shape and it all functions properly Now that I think about it I will leave it like it is it shows character I just wish it would talk to me.

I know what you mean every gun I see talks to me. But what I meant was I wish it could tell me where it traveled and who he shot at haha
