They give you no excuse NOT to come play. It's just too damn easy... Come out to share in this fun, it just doesn't get any better.

I really enjoyed this match. Although I have to admit part of me wasn't really looking forward to the heat, it really wasn't that bad. The temps eased off a bit from recent highs which was nice and having the shade, seating, and water on each stage really helped. It also didn't hurt that everyone busted tail so that we could be finished by a little after 12. Our squad was great which helped make the match fun. Got to shoot with a couple old friends (including a guy I went to high school with and who was one of my original "shooting buddies" shooting his first USPSA match) and a few new friends as well. We worked together well and made quick work of the stages, and I'd shoot with these guys any time. So many others I'd like to squad with too, but unfortunately you can't squad with everyone.

I thought the stages were really good, too. Stage 1 was designed by Spanky, and since he wasn't able to make the match I am not sure if it was exactly as he envisioned it. However, it did require some thought and precise footwork and was a pretty nice setup. Stage 2 was the classifier and was one that I hadn't shot before. I liked it although I didn't shoot it particularly well. Stage 3 was designed by Joel and was a nice field course that threw some round count problems/considerations at just about everyone, no matter what division you were shooting. I believe John designed Stage 4, borrowing some ideas from Spanky and others. The double swinger activated by the stomp box was nice. I haven't seen a double swinger in quite some time, and this one was well executed with something to do if you couldn't get them both in one pass. Overall, I thought Stage 4 was a good mixture of hosing short range targets and having to hit some a little farther out.

Nice job Racine on the division win. Full results can be found here:

See y'all next month. John said he would like to do a classifier match running probably 6. They are generally shorter and this will help the match move faster in the August heat, plus it will help those that would like the extra classifiers.

John did a great job on making this run as smoothly as it did from on-line registration, to water and shade tents on each stage. He was also out on the range quite a bit to make sure everything ran well.

Stage 1 was a complicated set-up to say the least. Bud Berthold was able to rescue that one and make it work.

Tear down was the best I've seen in a while with everyone pitching in to help

That was a fun match despite a broken extractor on the next to the last shot on the classifier. Thank goodness it was on a 35 point course and not one of the larger round count courses.

Congrats to Bryant on the Limited division win and the over-all combined sort, as well as the other division winners.

See everyone next month.

The stage was fun but it literally took us from about 7:30 till 9: 15 to set up .....was pretty complicated pull hair

Yes, show up set the course as you intend for it to be shot.

I did not submit the stage. I drew it previously and sent John a reply e-mail (from his email asking for stage submissions) stating that he could use "any of my stages." I'm certain he got it off of enos since I post all of the stages I draw on there for critiquing.

I hope my post wasn't taken the wrong way. I was looking for course design improvement suggestions. I didn't mean to ruffle any feathers.

I'd like to shoot a qualifier, never shot one. Matter of fact, ain't shot but one match with my 19. I sent my 34 to glock since I got it used. They did a lot of work to it, I'll bring the list to the steel match Sunday and ya'll can critique it. Got a wedding to be in in N.O. on Friday but should be able to make this one.
Anyone going to practice, let me know. Tomorrow will the first time I shoot the 34 but would like to shoot some more with more experienced shooters to let me know what I'm doing wrong before Aug.
