How about a "Roadtrip" to Anniston this Fall?

I still got this M1 Carbine itch I've yet to scratch. It seems a shame to NOT go to CMP since we're relatively close.

Is anybody else interested in going in, say, September? I know that is too far out to really commit to, but I'd like to how many, if any, would consider it. Thinking about a Saturday, leave Jackson about 7, get there noonish, head back when they close at 3. Right at 300 miles. Could make a stop in Meridian if some from that area want to go.

I'll volunteer my minivan, seats six pretty comfortably with room for some goodies. If a bunch want to go could maybe rent a 15 passenger van.

Of course we really need one of our resident military arms experts to go to provide proper guidance. Not mentioning any names, you know who you are

Just checked the CMP website, looks like the choices won't be hard...only Underwood & NPM left. I think the store selection may/can/does vary though? Not much in Garands either. Makes you wonder what the future holds, how are they going to support the infrastructure they've built up.

I come up with a 2 or 3 proposed dates tomorrow and run 'em up the proverbial flagpole. "Rusty Kimber" would be a great name for a ballplayer. I think I'll use it if I ever need an alias
