Re: No more glock...
I put my hands on one in Clinton, over at Surplus city, Ree. I gotta say... I'd rather keep my existing XD than buy that thing. Pretty cool, all in all, but it just ain't my cup of tea.
Re: No more glock...
the reason i want the xdm is that in the future i will possibly get into comp stuff and i want something i can use for that

Smoke and MIRRORs factor maybe. C'mon I'm serious.
I didn't understand the logic.
XD357, for you it doesn't matter huh. You will shoot what ever i think. Have heard of you shooting basically all three in comp at one time or another.
The answer could be as simple as She likes the feel of the XdM better.

Re: No more glock...
I can tell you it probably boils down to the the grip length, weight, and feel of the xdm. She was just about sold on the XD previously but I guess she's looking to upgrade, lol.
the xdm feels good in the hand, don't get me wrong. But it's so much lighter compared to my XD. I just don't think I like it as much. Although, if I wanted ergonomics out of a pistol, I'm pretty sold on the M&P Pro .40s&w.

Re: No more glock...
The xD(M)'s have adjustable grips and a better trigger. The adjustable grip would probably suit a female more due to (normally) smaller hands.

your right gunny I can really shoot anything. What stands out to me with the xdm is trigger it's a real improvement. Everything else I can live with or without.

Re: No more glock...
well considering i wear youth large gloves i think my hands qualify for small. finding a grip small enough for my hands becomes an issue quite often

Re: No more glock...
I shot a XdM this morning and was not impressed. Trigger is better than standard Xd yes , but grip was way diff for me. I like the Xd Tactical much better. I will not switch from Glock though. Another thing that bothers me on Xd is the visible striker on the rear when gun is cocked. Id need to paint it if I shot one much.

Remgirl, Glock does have a ambi mag release on the new gen 4's if I am not mistaken. And they have the interchangable back straps too. Might want to check them out.

Re: No more glock...
The XD is the gun that Springfield first brought to market. The XDm was brought out around 3 years after with a few improvements.
The XDm has a higher capacity of rounds and a more ergonomic grip. It also has some grip inserts that can be changed out to fit various hand sizes. The XDm also has a 4.5" barrel as opposed to a 4" for the XD so it might be slightly harder to conceal if that's something you're thinking about. Good luck!

it's not a new model it's a new generation frame. Just look for the model(19,17,ect.) you want with the new gen4 frame.
