Mississippi gun regulations on ATF web site
Not sure if this has been posted or not but ATF has collected all the Mississippi regulations on guns and posted them here:

Other states can be looked up here:

There have been several threads on armour piercing ammo, guns in the posession of minors, renewal of CCW permits, and such. This puts all the regulations in one place.
Some of it is interesting. For example:

Are these new laws? The possession on school property has always been a no no I thought.

Interesting about the school. My son and I were in Starkville Tuesday and did not visit MSU because of the weapons in my vehicle. I would have loved to carry him to the bookstore.

And I've seen black tipped 30.06 AP ammo (just like the stuff I have) for sale at almost every Gun show I've attended in Mississippi.
I know of at least two other poster here at MSGO that have recently purchased that same ammo from The CMP.
I'm just saying, that if it's a violation, there are a lot of them going on.
Furthermore, I believe the MS Law deferring to the Fed law on AP ammo is in reference to handgun ammunition specifically.

Just as a note on this link...
The ATF publication that lists all of the states laws is published every 2 years. The 2008 hard copy shipped this year. Be aware that LOTS may have changed in the time between.

Just a little trivia here but green tip .223 (5.56x45mm) rounds (M855 and variants) aren't armor piercing. They have a solid core with a penetrator tip but are not designated as AP by the ATF. The AP .223 round (M995) also has a black tip. And just as an aside, don't confuse US designations with NATO designations. SS109 is a NATO designation of European manufacture and while it has a black tip, it is also not AP. A lot of unscrupulous vendors will sell SS109 as AP when it actually is not.
