Well, what price range are you thinking about spending? Are you just looking for the cheapest possible upper? And I guess you're talking 5.56x45?

That's kinda like asking who has the best deals on cars. It all depends on what kind of car you need to drive. There are soooooo many different configurations out there. Compact, full size, sport/utility, hybrids, and I'm talking about uppers, not cars lol. You really need to be more specific.

A2 or flat-top?
Barrel Length?
Barrel type?
Chrome lined?
Gas system?
A2 handguard or rail?
A2 FSB or gas block?
etc.
etc.

ETA:
For reference, uppers usually start at about $400 and go up from there depending on what you need.

There are some basic flattop uppers at www.del-ton.com starting at $395. When you get to their site, just search on the term "upper" and they will pop up. Can't say much about the quality of the barrels, but I'm running one of their upper receivers and BCG on a 556 and it works just fine.

I was meaning dealers/distributors as a whole. Isn't there distributors that offers both high end and low end and for many models? As you can tell I know nothing about AR's and I do apologize for my lack of knowledge. I know how frustrating it can be trying to explain something to someone who knows nothing about what your trying to explain. pull hair I am asking for my stepson.

Here's a dealer that carries uppers from Stag, Noveske, LMT, Daniel Defense, and their own line:

http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/AR15-Upper-Receiver-Groups-s/1.htm

Here's a place that is "semi-custom". They build from great components and the quality-to-price ratio is really high. I built my 556 upper around one of their barrels and so far so good.

http://www.ar15performance.com/5_56_uppers_and_rifles

Here's a place that sells LMT and their own branded uppers:

http://www.dsarms.com/Lowers--Uppers/products/59/0/2

ADCO has their own brand, plus Rock River and Spikes Tactical (a pretty good deal at $495): http://www.adcofirearms.com

AR-15 Tactical has a whole bunch of complete uppers. I can't tell what brand. Maybe they build them from parts?

http://ar-15tactical.com/items/ar-15-complete-uppers/list.htm

Hope this info helps.

That is sweet, man! By the way, when I said I can't say much about the quality, I just meant that I had never seen or shot one -- not that there was anything wrong with it. You know I go back and read these posts and sometimes realize that I just didn't say it right. Sorry 'bout that.

Ok back to topic I just got a dpms upper from midway last week. It's the 16" heavy barrel and it was like $400 bucks. Got it alittle cheapper thanks to Nonnie having a birthday in July and Midway giving a discount. Here is the link to the dpms http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=519542
I love this upper and also like the del-ton upper. Here is the link to it. http://www.del-ton.com/AR_15_Barrel_Assembly_p/dt1015.htm
If I had to do it all over again I would do it the same way.
