it doesnt get any easier the second time you do it either..

I usually use a soft rubber mallet and tap lightly on the rear at the top of the grip area. and if that doesnt work I get a bigger maul and hit it till it goes in, I hat taking them things apart.

I use the top of my gun oil bottle. Something plastic like that works pretty good and does not scar up the finish. It does, after awhile get easier.

The first time I thought it was hard but after a few times I realized it just took a good hard pull. I spent the first couple of days just taking it apart and back together to get used to doing it. It isn't the most user friendly take down but it gets easier.

pretty much covered it... i didn't have any problems with mine the first time, that I can recall. I do recall having a problem putting it back in because the hammer wasn't in the correct position.

Well I feel bright. My problem came with removing the mainspring housing. It absolutely would NOT budge. Finally I got the instructions back out and re read them. I missed a part. It says you have to dry fire the weapon before the bolt assembly can be removed. I must have blocked that out the first time cause everyone knows you aren't supposed to dry fire rimfires. Surprised

Just hope I didn't damage the bolt from whacking on the thing before releasing the hammer.

But I got it. Once I did that it came apart no sweat.

I tried taking mine apart the other day and did not read the instructions step by step. The gun is on safety (won't move to fire) and I can't dry fire it to remove the bolt assembly. It has been sitting in the safe for two weeks now. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Did you get the bolt retaining pin to move at all? If so the hammer strut may have fallen out of place. Its a small pin that swivels off the hammer and rides in the oval cutout of the mainspring housing. That has to be in place before the bolt will move all the way out and the trigger will function properly.
