Hotel Robber Shoots Self

ATLANTA - Atlanta police say a man killed while trying to rob an airport-area hotel apparently shot himself.

Police say the man shot the clerk at the Travelodge Atlanta Airport in the abdomen during a robbery Sunday afternoon.

Initially police said the unidentified man was shot by the clerk. But they say that only one gun was found at the scene and that a surveillance video shows the robber shooting himself, apparently by accident, as he pulled the gun back.

Police say the clerk was shot in the abdomen and is in stable condition at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Police continue to look for a man they believe was the gunman's accomplice

As Forest Gump put it... Stupid is as stupid does.

Praying for a complete and swift recovery for the clerk...
