S&W M&P's for the M&P Fan

Post by mike718 on Sat Aug 21, 2010 9:08 am

I know, I know most of you guys and gals are Glock and XD fan's. But the S&W M&P are a great gun especially when you install the Apex trigger kit. It now have a smooth and crisp trigger to it.

I bought the .40 Compact, but could NOT get used to that trigger! I took it back the next day... But I LOVED the look and feel of that gun overall. I'll have to look up the APEX trigger kit... does that get rid of that hinged trigger??
NICE collection...

I'm a Glock fan, but have to say you have an impressive collection there. Nice group of M&Ps. I wouldn't mind owning any one of them.Smile

qfrasier, I don't think it does get rid of the hinged trigger, but I believe it does make it much easier to deal with.

Thanks guy! I on the Compact I installed the Duty/Carry Action Enhancement kit and on the 9L I installed the Competition Action Enhancement kit. The 9 FS is stock. As for the hinged trigger I really don't know what you mean by that. This kit just get riddle of the gritty and lighten the trigger pull also have a shorter reset. It you own a M&P I highly recommended the kit and you will love your M&P.

i just meant the two-piece trigger, safety thing... just didn't expect that at all. of course I bought it from Bass Pro, and they won't let you remove the trigger lock before leaving the store, so i had no clue. That was an impulse purchase, which I usually don't do. Live and learn. Of course, NOW I'm looking at the M&P 15... drool

I wonder why S&W has used the same name for the semi-auto pistol as they used for the revolver introduced in 1899? I don't like plastic framed handguns.

Hey, my EDC is a XD40 SC, but I don't have anything against the S&W M&P, I have a 9MM compact and the full size 40 cal and both have had trigger mods. Both are very reliable and accurate...

I had a local gunsmith do the triggers on both of my S&W M&P's plus some ramp polishing.

The kit is in between easy and medium to put in. The thing you will change from the stock parts is the sear, sear spring, fire pin spring, striker block and trigger spring. Change the striker block is the hardest since you have to remove the rear sight.

I was just following instruction from there website to install it and it turned out great!
