I shot several groups yesterday at twenty-five feet. The best was just inside three inches. That would make a nine inch twenty-five yard group. I was using a Sig P230 and Winchester White Box. I finished up by shooting two mags at a ten inch steel plate hung at twenty-five yards. I missed once with one mag and twice with the other. That, at least to me, confirmed my ability to hold five shots in the nine inch groups at twenty-five yards. I wonder if Sweeny ment feet instead of yards?

The SIG 230 should do better than that. I don't really consider it a Mouse Gun anymore with all the smaller ones out now. Unless you meant the 238.

It is a P230 stainless. It looks a lot like the PPKS or Mauser HSC. It may be me and not the gun causing the 3" groups.

You’re with the rest of us, so far (unless we find a Super Mousegunner out there!).

I’m convinced that Sweeney must have just plugged some numbers into a standing format the magazine uses and didn’t edit the yardage.

Maybe we’ve got some other mousegunners out there who’d like to give it a try.

Maybe we ought to send Sweeney the URL to this page and see what he’s got to say.

I like Mouse Guns, as I do all guns. That has not always been the case. My pistol of choice was a Smith &Wesson 686 357 with a 8 3/8 inch barrel back around 28 years ago. I did not know that you could hit anything with a barrel shorter than 6 inches. But over the years I have discovered that I could indeed hit what I was shooting at with shorter barrels. First 4 inch barrels then down to snubs. A 380 ain,t nothing to sneeze at. Heck, I,ve got a little Beretta Tomcat in 32acp that is pretty accurate. I have a Colt government 380 and a Sig 380. The Sig is surprisingly accurate and I don,t want to be on the receiving end of a 32 or a 380.Mouse guns, it depends on the gun, who is pulling the trigger, and ammo. Now don,t get me wrong, I don,t want to be in a gunfight with only my 32 Tomcat from a distance of 50 yards and the bad guy has 357. But I feel confidant with the Sig 380 under most self defense scenarios. It still surprises me how accurate it is. We forget, probably because we were not around then, that before the 357, policemen used calibers that were anemic by today,s standards in the early 1900s.
