Re: fav bird gun
My fav. Remington 870 Wingmaster...belonged to my Dad. He loved to quail hunt...I gave it to him for Christmas one year...one of the few times I saw him with tears in his eyes...a memorable moment...2nd would be the Remington 870 my Dad bought for me one year
Its nothing real fancy compared to Brownings (overrated IMHO)
Folks at the duck camp always poo poo'ed use Remington shooters...but we always came back with the limit

Re: fav bird gun

this one is my fav thats a stock photo I will need to upload a true pic of mine monday.
12 g H&K. Fine example of italian shotguns in my book. dad bought that for me 8-10 years ago and it has taken many dove teal and mallards in its life time. Seemed like every time i took it to the field we got harrased by game wardens to... i think they wanted to take my gun lol
Re: fav bird gun
man I would not know what to do with a shotgun like that
pretty
Dad and I turned over the boat one time jumping a beaver dam during duck season...Both 870's went to the bottom of the slough in 20 degree weather....we had to dive for em....found them both and the motor...built a fire to dry off a bit.....had to paddle to the blind...killed our limit and paddled back..we came down with the flu the next week....its amazing we did not have hypothermia
870 is one tough gun...not pretty...but she's good to go

Re: fav bird gun
870 was my go to gun for years. I used a 20g 870express mag forever! I was about 17 befor i stepped up to using 12g 3.5 inch for duck hunting.. I still remember as clear as day the first time i shot it. We were in a old slough that was about breast bone deep. I was on kinda on the bank with my left knee resting in the embankment and my right leg was about 2 foot in the water. Some ducks were coming in straight at me. I fired at them at the at the 11o clock angle and it blew me straight into the water lol my dad and all your friends couldnt stop laughing at me the rest of the morning. That was also the first and last day i used Remington Nitro HD mags duck hunting.

she is a short lil gun her barrels are right at 25 inchs and fairly light weight. I shouldered a few 30 and 28 inch OU but they felt like they weighed a ton and they only had extractors not ejectors

My favorite is a Pre-War Stevens 311 12 ga with 26" IC-MOD barrels. Unlike the later Stevens 311's, This one has nicely polished metal and Walnut stocks.

This is the gallery folks. We need some pics of said guns.
All I've got is two ugly 835's. There not worth a pic.

WingMaster fan until the Benelli SBE II came along.....
Most have seen or shot mine, so no pic is provided unless you want b/c you'll want one. Best shooting all-around shotgun I've ever shot.

I like my ol' 11-87, and even a better shot with my plain ol' 870 with 28" bbl........ guess if I'd ever used a more sophisticated gun, I might like one......until then, I'll use what I gots.....

I can shoot it fairly well
Re: fav bird gun
I think I've got this adding pictures thing figured out. These are a couple of my favorites. The first is an Austrian Ferlach proof house 16 ga. The second is a French Darne model R10 16 ga. Both weigh 5 3/4 lbs. I don't get to bird hunt anymore but I love shooting clay pigeons in the backyard with my old doubles. Plus it doesn't matter if you miss as long as you miss with a classy gun!!

Re: fav bird gun
When I want to embaress myself and show people just how bad a shot I am I pull out this one.
This is an pre-1929 American Gun Co. 28 ga SxS. It only weighs 4 3/4 lbs. The clay pigeons are safe when I'm using this one.[img]

12ga Beretta Silver Pigeon II (merc tubes and fitted to my LOP) great gun very low recoil. it spanked some dove ass last weekend.
20Ga LC Smith sst, aej, lightweight. great little rabbit and quail gun.
Duck Gun- Benelli SBE bought it the first year they came out and it has been one great gun.
My Wife's favorite is her Benelli Monfeltro- i was hoping she would not take to bird hunting and i could have it but that didnt happen.
