Ron Paul's message to the Tea Party

Post by mescal on Tue Aug 31, 2010 10:53 am

I know a lot of you are fans of Beck, and I agree with him most of the time. Although I don't trust him, after he tried to discredit Ron Paul on his show a couple years ago. Heres Ron Pauls take on the situation.

Ron Paul has some surprising news for the Tea Party:

You’re being taken for a ride.

At least this is what many libertarians like Ron Paul believe when they see someone like Glenn Beck or Sarah Palin trying to lead the Tea Party at the “restoring honor” rally this weekend.

“As many frustrated Americans who have joined the Tea Party realize, we cannot stand against big government at home while supporting it abroad. We cannot talk about fiscal responsibility while spending trillions on occupying and bullying the rest of the world. We cannot talk about the budget deficit and spiraling domestic spending without looking at the costs of maintaining an American empire of more than 700 military bases in more than 120 foreign countries. We cannot pat ourselves on the back for cutting a few thousand dollars from a nature preserve or an inner-city swimming pool at home while turning a blind eye to a Pentagon budget that nearly equals those of the rest of the world combined.”

The Tea Party & The Resoring Honor Rally are not the same thing.

This was dicussed numerous times on the Glenn Beck show.

Ron Paul is like many other Americans (including Beck), right on some issues, dead wrong on others.

Overseas Military bases are so critical to National Security on so many different levels I can't even begin to describe it all. If Paul can't see that then he needs to study History 101.

No one is right 100% of the time... but I'll go with Ron Paul over anyone else that's out there. And I'll probably write him in AGAIN next election unless we have a choice a damn site better than what we had this last time.

I won't beat this dead horse here, as I've debated it a hundred times on other forums.

Suffice it to say I think Paul has good intentions & we all know where that paved road leads to....

IMHO, Ron Paul is the only choice for president - if he runs again.

Putting in the dem and rep establishment will lead to nothing but more and more tyranny and loss of freedom for us all. We can't afford any more of this. If not, we're all going to end up destitute - then we'll really have nothing to lose.

Ron Paul is the only real candidate for President. That is why, of course, he will not even come close to being nominated. The ONLY way to get our budget under control is to take an axe to the military-industrial complex. Close ALL overseas bases and most of those in the US. 1/2 of our entire budget is eaten up by an out-of-control military-industrial complex. We spend on "defense" more than the rest of the entire world combined.
We are always at war for one reason only: there is much profit to be made in war. Who cares if we "win"? The goal is to make the wars last as long as possible. No military bases worldwide = no wars. It really IS that simple.
