legal barrel length

legal barrel length

I'm looking for a home defense shotgun. I've seen guns with barrels listed at 18 and 18.5 inches. What length is legal in MS?

18" for shotguns, overall length must be 26" as well. A single or double barreled shotgun with the stock cut like a pistol grip and the barrel cut to 18" is usually illegal when measured overall.

Most go with an 18.5 just to be overly sure.
